What we believe in
Our core values
At WMHC, our core values are the guiding principles that shape our mission and daily operations. These values reflect our dedication to delivering exceptional service and creating a positive impact in our community. Our core values include:
- Passion
- Compassion
- Trust and honesty
- Commitment
- Working together
Passion
We are passionate about what we do and the difference we make to the people’s lives who receive our services. Passion is what leads our company and all our front line staff forward ensuring we continue to deliver outstanding care and support services.
Compassion
is at the heart of everything we do for our service users, combining humanity, kindness and care. The very basis of what we do is by ensuring our staff on the front line are driven by compassion and all service users feel their dignity is respected when the care and support they receive is delivered with human warmth and empathy.
When providing care and support, we treat our clients with dignity, we aim to support and empower them and to respect their right to make their own decisions.
Trust and Honesty
We are open and honest about our service we provide. We say what we can and cannot do, we will provide our service users with the service that we have undertaken to provide and will not take on a service user where we do not have the capability to provide the service needed. Our fees are transparent: we charge our clients in line with what we have recorded in our contract – there are no hidden fees.
While we work hard to provide the highest quality service, if we get it wrong, we will say, and we will learn from what went wrong and make appropriate changes to our service and to our operations to improve the service we provide. We believe in a non-hierarchical and “open door” approach, whereby any member of care support staff can speak to senior management and the directors.
We seek to employ care support workers who are able to take responsibility and who are not afraid to own up if they get something wrong, and who are willing to learn and develop from their mistakes and who have the courage to speak out if they see something that they think is wrong.
Commitment to quality of care
We believe that we can only provide the best possible care if we recruit, train and retain the best care support staff who share WMHC’s values and who are committed to WMHC’s vision. We value our care support staff for their commitment and passion in providing our service users with great care and support.
We recognise that mistakes do occur, but when they do, we expect an honest reflection from all those involved so that future errors can be prevented. Our care support staff are one of our key assets, the rapport they have with our service users is key to the atmosphere at WMHC and the care and support we provide.
Working together
We firmly believe in listening and taking into account the views of all those involved in the care and support of our service users -social workers, family members, doctors, nurses, OT’s, MH teams, office staff and care support workers – and in working with them all.
Each care support worker is a valued part of our team, and we listen to our carer support workers and value their contribution and input, given that they see our service users on a daily basis and are often the first to notice changes in the wellbeing and health of our service users.
