What is Supported Living Care?

Supported Living encompasses a variety of support services designed to assist individuals within residential care homes.

Supported living care refers to a form of residential care where individuals with disabilities or special needs live in their own homes or apartments while receiving support from care professionals. This support can vary from assistance with daily tasks such as cooking and cleaning to more specialised care, depending on the individual’s needs. The goal of supported living care is to empower individuals to live as independently as possible while providing the necessary support to ensure their well-being and quality of life.

Out of Hours Services

WMHC goes above and beyond with our out-of-hours services, ensuring that you have access to the support you need even during non-traditional hours. Whether it’s late at night, early in the morning, or on weekends and holidays, our dedicated team remains on standby to provide assistance and peace of mind. We understand that emergencies don’t always happen during regular business hours, which is why we extend our care services to cover all hours of the day and night. With our out-of-hours support, you can trust that help is always available whenever you need it most.

The On Call operates from 5pm until 9am Monday to Friday and 24 hours during the weekend and public bank holidays. During these hours we deal with all queries and concerns that the clients or carers may have regarding the service that is being provided.

We are able to assist with rota checks, monitor carers punctuality as well as duration of each call to ensure that our clients are receiving the best possible care at all times.

Getting the Right Help at the Right Time

On call operators are trained in dealing with emergency situations and are able to get the right intervention when required which includes:

  • Contact out of hours GP services & District Nurses
  • Contact emergency services and lease with next of kin
  • Contact social services emergency duty teams
  • Carry out safe and well checks
  • Report &  locating Missing persons
  • Dealing with medication queries and concerns
  • Support & advise the community care staff with emergency situations
